Petition Against Law to Kill Carp in Spain

We write this artical to let all the european carp anglers know about the current situation in Spain regarding our sport and fish. An absurd law about exotic and invasive species obligates us to kill our beloved carp.
Ecologist grous like Ecologistas en accion and SEO-birdlife have decided that after 2000 years in case of carp, and over a 100 years that PIKE and BLACK-BASS have been in our waters, that these species are harmful for the enviorment and want to turn us in to executioners and do the dirty work for them!!
They are not only destroying our sport and way of life, but also the chance to pass it on to our children like our fathers did.
This will not only happen to us, acording to a EU normative, all european countrys have to present a list with invasive species and plans of eradication befor 2017. this is why we ask all the european anglers for there help and suport to change this situacion and make sure it doesnt happen in any of the other european countrys.
We ask for your help and solidarity to let all the brands and distribuitos know what is going on here in spain, and what it would mean for our sport and industry if this law gets aplied in all europe.
This law not only obligates us to kill the fish, but also prohibids fishing for any of the species registered as invasive. We have been fighting for years against people that dont respect our way of life, againts peaple that come to our country and kill our fish to export them to their countrys for economic benefits.
A problem that has caused alot of dammage in place like the EBRO. A place that alot of you know for that quantity and quality of the fish.
The last year we where starting to controle this problem , but thanks to this new law these people will stay unpunished and got to possibility to do more damage to our rivers and lakes.
This is why a group of well know spanish anglers, with the support of the entire collective of spanish carpanglers, have embarked on a crucade to try and change things and make sure that everyone in Spain and Europe hears about this problem.
Our fish are our heritage and have to be respected, and we have to make sure that the future generations can learn to respect and enjoy nature like we do. And not have to tell them they have to sacrifice a fish fot the whim of a couple of ecologists, wich only ambicion is to fill there pocets with blood money from european subvencions.
On april 23th we had our fisrt protest, around 6000 anglers came to Merida (extremadura).
5th of june we had our second protest, this time in the capitol MADRID , more than 300.000 anglers
Hunters, and other groups afected by this law ,traveled from all over spain to fight this injustice and let everyone know what is going on.
The mayor from madrid did everything she could to boycot this manifestacion and even changed the route 3 days before our protest.
One of the biggest manifestation ever in madrid and it didnt even get mencioned on nacional tv.
Newspapers saying that the centre of madrid couldnt be reached by car because of road works.
300.000 angry people yelling BASTA YA !!! (its enough) can not be silenced.
Together with the suport of anglers and hunters all over europe we have to stop this injustice before it is to late!! We will start an online petition and ask all of you to sign and share as much as posible.
